Shree Ram Group is a diversified business conglomerate with a market standing of over two decades led by a visionary Shri. Mukesh Balabhai Patel taking the Group to be the First Certified Green Ship recycling yard in INDIA in 2014. The Group consists of 4 Companies having recycling plots including one VLCC Plot. In year 2013 alone, the Group achieved recycling of 15 Vessels having total Light weight of 220,000 MT.
Among the various achievements, the Group has taken vigorous efforts in convincing the French Government for recycling the Aircraft Carrier “CLEMENCEAU” in one of the Yard owned by the Group and signed an MOU in 2005. Engineers from India were deputed to France for undergo training for removing the Asbestos safely for disposing it. The Group under the leadership of Mr. Mukesh did not give up taking the lead.
The stellar achievement of the group is the signing of the pilot project of Maersk Vessel in the year 2016. Apart from this Shree Ram is the first yard to sign the pilot project of Transocean Semi-submersible rig to recycle as per EU SRR (EU Regulations 1257/2013). Shree Ram has successfully completed the semi-submersible rig without dropping a single block in the inter-tidal zone.
Shri.Mukesh Patel had a humble beginning by acquiring license from GMB to recycle ships using the Plot No. 79 in 1994. Among the conventional recyclers, he had the foresight and vision to be a differentiator in a forward looking manner by conducting the business on sound principles backed by a team of professionals with green initiatives in focus.
The Chemical transport Giant STOLT NEILSEN has send more than 32 vessels for recycling. After due diligence and auditing the recycling process of the yards, they selected the Shree Ram Yards for the purpose. The first vessel arrived in 2006 after acceptance of the proposed Ship recycling plan,the process, and systems prepared by the yard. First ever approval was given by Capt. Mc Kenna from STOLT, witnessed the recycling of their first vessel and on satisfaction all other vessels were recycled at Shree Ram Group yards.
Shree Ram Group has been first ever Company to receive Class NK Statement of Compliance (SOC) for Hong-Kong Convention in the year 2015. Shree Ram Group has also been first ever Company to receive Certificate of Compliance by Class NK for EU SRR in the year 2017.
Two yards of Shree Ram has been audited by European Commission for inclusion of the yards in EU Ship Recycling list. It is the most awaited results for Shree Ram Group as this would be a turning point in the entire ship recycling industry across the globe.
